District of Barriere Community Garden
There are many garden plots available for anyone wanting to reserve a space this year! The Barriere Community Garden is located behind the library just north of Fadear Park in downtown Barriere. Most plots are 300 square feet in size and can be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
The cost to reserve a plot is $20 plus a $20 deposit that will be returned to you at the end of the season when the plot has been cleaned up.
Because of the Covid-19 virus, the required forms can’t be filled out at our office, but if you’d like to reserve a plot, view the map below and/or visit the garden to choose the plot that looks best for you (call our office to check availability 250-672-9751). Then, download and fill out the “Community Garden Plot Agreement” and “Community Garden Claims Form” (we would also be happy to mail you the forms, just give us a call) and either scan and e-mail the completed forms to firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop them off in the drop box at the front doors of the Ridge building at 4936 Barriere Town Road, or mail them to P.O. Box 219, Barriere Town Road, Barriere, B.C. V0E 1E0.
Payments can be made by cash or check dropped off in a labeled envelope in the drop box at the front doors of the Ridge building at 4936 Barriere Town Road. Other payment options may be available, just give us a call to discuss. Plot holders will be able to access their spaces starting May 1st, 2020. Until then, we ask that plot holders hold off on any activities within the Community Garden to allow staff to conduct maintenance through the month of April.
